Calling all cooks, crafters, and talented people! The Mission Committee is sponsoring a Mission Support Bazaar after church on Sunday, December 17. All monies raised will go to support our missionaries the Holcomb's, the Castellucio's, and others not mentioned. Please bring your Christmas crafts, treats, arts, or other "talents" to donate marked with the price you choose. Then stay after church and shop for this worthy Christian cause.
The Fish Mitten Tree will once again need donated gloves and mittens to decorate its empty branches; these donations will be distributed to the children enrolled in Darke County Head Start programs. In addition to the Mitten Tree located at Montage, a tree will also stand inside the Brethren Retirement Community and in the Arcanum Ben Franklin store. The Mitten Tree has been an annual holiday project of the local Fish organization for almost fifty years. To best meet the needs of the children directly served by Head Start programs, donated gloves and mittens should fit boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 5; however, larger or smaller sized donations will be shared with Head Start families. To be sure that mittens and gloves can be distributed prior to Christmas, contributions should be made by December 17. For more information, contact Mrs. Delk at 937-548-2482.
