  • Consecration Sunday - The annual Victory Dinner will be hosted by the youth group after worship on Sunday, November 19. While this is a free meal, free-will donations will be accepted for the youth and their ministry.

    Church Dartball season continues on Monday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. at home vs. Castine Church of the Brethren. Home games are played at First Presbyterian Church this season. Spectators and cheerleaders are welcome at all games, home or away. 2017-2018 Season Schedule and Results

    Come share a Thanksgiving dinner with our community family on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Don't settle for a TV dinner alone when you can join others in this family meal with "all the trimmings!" First Presbyterian Church invites you to share Thanksgiving blessings. Besides the turkey and dressing, the meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, seasoned green beans, cranberry salad, rolls, milk, coffee, lemonade, and assorted pies and desserts. Along with the good food, enjoy music and good company! Donations will be accepted. Make your reservations by calling the church at 548-3188.

    Poinsettias are available for sale again this year through the Worship and Music Committee. They will be placed in the Sanctuary for the Christmas season. A 7.5-inch potted plant with 6-10 blooms costs $14.00. Poinsettias may be picked up after the Christmas Eve Candlelight service on December 24. Deadline for ordering is Monday, November 27. Payment is requested with your order.

    It's a Celebration of Ministry! On Sunday, December 3, First Presbyterian Church is planning a carry-in meal to celebrate the ministry of Nikki Gilmore following the morning worship service. Our Parish Life Committee will provide the meat, table service, and beverages, and we ask you to provide a vegetable, salad, or dessert. Please sign up for the meal using the form in Sunday's bulletins or the provided board in the narthex.

    Calling all cooks, crafters, and talented people! The Mission Committee is sponsoring a Mission Support Bazaar after church on Sunday, December 3, 10, and 17. All monies raised will go to support our missionaries the Holcomb's, the Castellucio's, and others not mentioned. Please bring your Christmas crafts, treats, arts, or other "talents" to donate marked with the price you choose. Then stay after church and shop for this worthy Christian cause.

    Trail Tribe Days Scheduled: Are you looking for a way to connect with nature or for a way to give back? Volunteering at the next Trail Tribe Day is for you! Come and get some moderate exercise while enjoying the great outdoors and helping us keep Chenoweth Trails looking great! During Trail Tribe Days, we clean trails, cut and stack wood, and may also work on special projects. Hot lunch will be served to our volunteers. Upcoming Trail Tribe dates are: Saturday, December 9 from 9 a.m. to noon; Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9 a.m. to noon; Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 9 a.m. to noon.     Free Christmas Cards Available! Please help us use the remainder of the Christmas cards we have in stock. Two sets of cards are available; one features our snowy front door and the other features our Sanctuary decorated with Poinsettias. These cards are free for the taking (donations will be accepted) and come in packs of 20. Pick yours up while you are here for worship or during the week during business hours (9 a.m. - noon and 12:30 - 4:00 p.m.)

    The Good Samaritan House is in need of used blankets for winter. Contact Kathy Graham if you would like to donate a blanket.

    Coat Drive - Accepting new coats of all sizes as well as new hats, gloves, and scarves. Drop-off bins are available in Greenville at the following locations: Addiction Center, FHMCC, 1st Assembly of God, 1st United Methodist Church. For more information, contact Chris Anderson at 937-569-1123.

    Attention Kroger shoppers: If you have a Kroger Plus Shopper's Card, you can help raise money for First Presbyterian Church. From the Kroger website, go to the "Community Rewards" page and enroll in the Community Rewards program. The number you need to "donate" to First Presbyterian Church is 82007. This will cost you nothing, but a percentage of your grocery bill each time you shop will be donated to First Presbyterian Church.

    FISH Choice Food Pantry operates 12 months out of the year and accepts donations anytime. The pantry has a need for all non-perishable food items. There is also a need for personal products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and any other things you might have. For a list of "suggested donations," download the flyer.
