Opportunities

FPC offers a variety of opportunities for you to serve within the church, and our larger community.

  • FPC Kids

FPC Kids offers class both before and during church on Sunday mornings. We also hold key events throughout the year including: Festival of the Risen King, Vacation Bible School & Winter Warm-Up.

FPC Kids is always looking for more volunteers! Our volunteers must pass a background check in order to maintain our safety guidelines. If you are interested in this ministry opportunity; contact Paige Ervin.

  • Tech Team

FPC has a need for people who are willing to take on the very important work of helping our A/V booth. This includes a number of jobs from clicking the slides as the service moves along, to sound checking the worship team on the sound board or running the production of the videos for those watching at home.

Many people are intimidated by technology, but we encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and join us. This ministry is one that serves the whole congregation and we are willing to put people in the booth with you as you learn and grow in your familiarity with the job. Entry level clicking through the slide can become much more if you have an interest to learn. If you are interested or have questions about this ministry, please contact Don Lockhart.

  • Hospitality

On Sunday mornings we are always looking for volunteers to greet people as they come in the doors and volunteers to host coffee hour. Our Deacons organize these volunteers. If you are interested in either of these ministries, contact Kelly Hounshell.

  • Worship Team

  • Caring Cooks

If you are in need of a meal or meals, contact a member of the deacons.

  • Caring Cards

Caring Cards is a ministry that gives people a little extra love at home. In our narthex we have a space dedicated to this ministry with a variety of cards for you to fill out (birthday, anniversary, thinking of you, blank etc.). Posted on the bulletin board each month is a list of birthdays and anniversaries, as well as information on our home-bound members. We encourage you to write a card, address it and leave it in our bin to be mailed out. We will provide the postage.

  • Evangelism Team

Sharing the gospel with others is a key part of the Christian life. We are not all made by God to be extroverts, but we are all called to share the truth of the love of Jesus with others. We can do this with gifts, service, or other events. Please contact Pastor Andrew if you have interest in learning how to share your faith and bring the love of Jesus to those who do not know the gospel in our neighborhood.

  • Choir

Choir is postponed until further notice.

  • Tutoring

Our church has had a tutoring program for middle school students for over 20 years. We are a group of adults who care about and want to make a difference for students in our community. We do this by offering one-on-one tutoring once a week to a group of students who are recommended by their teachers. We work with teachers at the school who provide the materials we use and supervise the work we do with the students. If you are interested in this ministry; contact Diane Amick.
