OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

  • FPC Kids

FPC Kids offers class during church on Sunday mornings. We also hold key events throughout the year including: Festival of the Risen King, Vacation Bible School & Winter Warm-Up.

FPC Kids is always looking for more volunteers! Our volunteers must pass a background check in order to maintain our safety guidelines. If you are interested in this ministry opportunity; contact Paige Ervin.

  • Tech Team

FPC has a need for people who are willing to take on the very important work of helping our A/V booth. This includes a number of jobs from clicking the slides as the service moves along, to sound checking the worship team on the sound board or running the production of the videos for those watching at home.

Many people are intimidated by technology, but we encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and join us. This ministry is one that serves the whole congregation and we are willing to put people in the booth with you as you learn and grow in your familiarity with the job. Entry level clicking through the slide can become much more if you have an interest to learn. If you are interested or have questions about this ministry, please contact Don Lockhart.

  • Hospitality

Have you ever been to a church and wondered where things were or what was happening next? The greeters and the coffee hour preparers could use your smiling face to help our church feel welcoming and user-friendly for visitors. Our Deacons organize these volunteers. If you are interested in either of these ministries, contact Kelly Hounshell.

  • Caring Cards

Have you ever wandered to your mailbox only to find junk mail and bills? It is always nice to see a card from people who care. Caring Cards is a ministry that gives people a little extra love at home. In our narthex we have a space dedicated to this ministry with a variety of cards for you to fill out and address (birthday, anniversary, thinking of you, blank etc.) and then we will get them in the mail! If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Helen Miller at (937)548-0271.

  • Caring Cooks

Caring Cooks is a group of volunteers who provide meals to families or individuals during times of crisis, whether it is an illness, surgery or hospitalization. To volunteer for this ministry, contact the church office with your name, phone number and email address.

  • Worship Team

Greenville First Presbyterian is blessed to have both traditional and praise music at each of our worship services. Our worship team practices once throughout the week and on Sundays before worship.  If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Suzi Fischer.

  • Evangelism Team

Sharing the gospel with others is a key part of the Christian life. We are not all made by God to be extroverts, but we are all called to share the truth of the love of Jesus with others. We can do this with gifts, service, or other events. Please contact Pastor Andrew if you have interest in learning how to share your faith and bring the love of Jesus to those who do not know the gospel in our neighborhood.

  • Tutoring

This ministry is cancelled for the 20/21 school year due to Covid-19.

Our church has had a tutoring program for middle school students for over 20 years. We are a group of adults who care about and want to make a difference for students in our community. We do this by offering one-on-one tutoring once a week to a group of students who are recommended by their teachers. We work with teachers at the school who provide the materials we use and supervise the work we do with the students. If you are interested in this ministry; contact Diane Amick.

  • Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Pastor Andrew.
